When picking up a puppy, you should pick it up when you are on vacation or a weekend so that the first few days of adjustment are easier, not just for you, but for your puppy as well. Getting a young puppy is like having a toddler, they do not understand anything, so they will need to be taught.

A puppy needs socializing, they can turn out very antisocial if the right steps are not taken. Once the puppy is vaccinated you should take the puppy out and about to see other dogs and people. Puppy training classes are very helpful

Puppies do not have any bladder control, they need to be let out after eating, drinking, playing and sleeping. To make it easier, I recommend a feeding schedule. Do not leave the pup loose in the house when you are busy ( cooking, cleaning, watching tv). Never punish a puppy for an accident, but always reward the right behavior.

Puppies often run off, never use the word "come" until you understand the proper way teach "come". Never scold the puppy if he/she runs off. When it comes back, praise the puppy immensly. You want "come" to get the biggest reward.
